CALL FOR JOURNALISTS “REPORTING CLIMATE CHANGE” 2022

COPEAM (Permanent Conference of Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators), as part of its training activities, has just launched the new edition of the online training course  for journalists “Reporting Climate Change“. The course, developed with the support of the European Investment Bank, will take place between October and December 2022 on the didactic platform of the University Uninettuno, partner of the project.

The participation is completely free of charge and is open to professional journalists from Africa, the Balkans and the MENA Region. The deadline for applications is September 5, 2022 (limited number of places available).

This online training course for journalists has the following general objectives:
– Raising awareness among the information professionals on the implications of climate change and of the related sustainable development challenges, in particular those concerning Africa and the Mediterranean;
– Providing the trainees with an accurate overview of the international legal framework, the international bodies operating in this field, the current negotiations within the UN (COP), the main agreements and shared goals, the energy transition’s challenges, etc.;
– Strengthening the journalists’ reporting skills about climate change and environment related issues.
