Brief Bio
Mario Salomone is environmental sociologist, sociologist, university professor, journalist, writer of novels and tales, and lecturer in hundreds of conferences, editor in chief of the Italian journals ‘.eco’, ‘Culture of Sustainability’, and ‘Blu Planet’. Mario Salomone is also author or co-author of handbooks, papers and book chapters on environmental communication, green economy, ecological economics, and environmental education. He served or still serves as professor of Environmental Sociology and Tourism in Local Development at the University of Bergamo and of Political communication at IULM University, Milano (Italy). He is also professor at University of Turin (Master MASRA in Socio-environmental sustainability and food chains) and University of Milano Bicocca (Master MACSIS in Science Communication and Sustainable Innovation). at national and international level in the field of environmental communication as Mario Salomone is also Secretary-General of the worldwide network organizing the WEECs (World Environmental Education Congresses) on sustainability/environmental education and education for sustainable development, founder and President since 2013 of the Italian Federation of Environmental Media (FIMA) and co-founder of the IECA (International Environmental Communication Association).
